ABOUT ME

My name is Elayna Dyke, and I am a senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato studying Communication Disorders. My second language is American Sign Language. My interests include the deaf community, neurogenic disorders, cleft lip and palate therapy, and theatre arts and performing. 
 
I have my high school diploma from Austin High School when I graduated in June 2015. I attended Riverland Community College, Austin for two years full-time during my junior and senior years of high school. I earned my Associate of Arts Degree in May 2015. I started attending Minnesota State University, Mankato in August 2015, and I intend to graduate in May 2017 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. 
 
My short-term goals are to go to graduate school and study Communication Disorders. I will be attending Minnesota State University, Mankato for my Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology. My long-term goal is to become a speech-language pathologist. I am open to all types of work, including traveling, working in a school, working in a hospital, working in a skilled nursing facility, or just going wherever I am needed within my community. I am interested in aphasia outcome measures, aphasia intervention, apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders, and cleft lip and palate rehabilitation.
